Notting Hill was of course famous before the Hugh Grant film of the same name, with famous markets and a rather well known carnival it is known worldwide as a wonderful atmospheric place. It has long been one of London’s most vibrant areas and is sometimes simply referred to as “The Hill".
The area is relatively young in London terms as only two centuries ago it was mostly wasteland and hardly habited at all. It was once known as The Potteries because of the local Pottery works. Now however Notting Hill has a place in many hearts as a rather special area. Full to the brim with lively bars, café’s and shops and with a thriving and artistic community it is a great place to stay or visit.

A short term let in Notting Hill will put you right in the happening heart of London; quite simply this area has it all. Portobello Market is one of London’s most famous markets and for good reason. During the week you can buy some fine fresh produce and on Fridays and Saturdays the clothing and gifts takes over, with handmade arts and crafts in addition to vintage and one off garments being sold at competitive prices. The Portobello Antiques Market is also on Saturdays and usually attracts a big crowd. The nearest tube station for the markets is Notting Hill Gate Tube.
